I've made the very tentative beginnings of a website. I've been thinking about it for many years and really intending to all last year, but now it's finally happening. I've got a domain - feel free to check it out at http://www.jacquelingalvin.com. Hosting is being provided by Powweb. I've no idea how good they are really yet - but they were reasonably priced and it seems easy to use and all that. It's a very empowering feeling to have control over your info in cyberspace. I like it already, even though there's nothing actually up on the website yet!!!
Now, of course, the work really begins with trying to collect, gather and in some cases digitise a lot of material. Photographs, drawings, and videos. And then manage and categorise and organise everything. it's going to be a big project. I'd have to do this anyway if someone else was doing my website - but this way, i still have to do this, but I have much more control over the whole process, I suppose. I'm even thinking of putting up some of my work from my masters. I.e a cute fun game organising the planets!!!! and some c-sound composition. i can hardly wait.
I aim to keep it small and simple, being selective rather than comprehensive. That has never been my strong point - but i think I'm getting better at being selective. I hope. Let's see.
